From its inception, this building was occupied by the Sterling Bank, and thereafter by the Banque d'Hochelaga which later became part of the Banque Canadienne Nationale.
The building then served as a post office before being used as a telephone exchange of Bell Telephone Company. It is now an apartment bulding.
