Napoléon Carrière, son of Basile and Gléphyre Carrière, was born in Hammond in 1887. In 1906, he married Joséphine Richer and together they had thirteen kids. Napoléon was an exceptional carpenter, farmer and labourer. He took part in plowing matches until eighty years old.
For many years, Napoléon transported merchandise for his brother Mathias, owner of the Carrière store. Around 1947, he and his wife bestowed the farm to his elder son, Émile, and they settled in this magnificent house built close to the railway, now Prescott and Russell Recreational Trail.
Raymond, son of Léon Bouvier and Stella Gendron, was born in 1944 in Laurence Harbour, New Jersey. He arrived in the parish with his parents in 1947. At the time, the family was living in the Butler house (3189 Gendron Street) and Raymond later purchased this beautiful home of Napoléon Carrière. He was a public servant for the Federal Government, farmer, owner of Bouvier Meat Sales, Municipal Counsellor (1982-1988) and Reeve of Clarence Township (1988-1994), as well as Founding President for the Club Optimiste in Hammond.
