Parc national Mont-Mégantic

A 4-season outdoor destination with astronomical discoveries, this park consists of 60 km of hiking trails, 43 km of snowshoeing trails and 28 km of cross-country skiing trails.

Take the opportunity to climb Mounts St-Joseph (1, 065 m) and Mégantic (1,105 m) and to discover the ASTROLab and the astronomic observatories.

Several accomodations available: huts and rustic camps, Huttopia tents and camping.

ASTROlab

Did you know that Mégantic region is located in the heart of the first International Dark-Sky Reserve?

Discover the ASTROLab and the observatories. Observe the starry sky and live the Universe from the Earth to the Stars!

Take part in the astronomy evenings happening every Saturday from mid-May to mid-October, and everyday from the end of June to the beginning of September. Discover astronomy evenings during winter time combined with torch-lit snowshoeing from the end of January to the end of MArch. Reservations required.

Mt. St-Joseph (1065m)

From it 1065m high, you can observe the national parc like never before. At the summit you will find an old chapel. 

This park, which was created in 1994, is an increasingly popular year-round outdoor destination. It is the only scientific attraction of its kind in Québec, at the heart of the unique International Dark Sky Reserve.

Mt. Mégantic (1105m) - The Observatory

The summit of Mount Mégantic, on which stands the impressive observatory, reaches up to 1,155 m.

Get to the summit by foot (2.8 km) or by car (summer time only)! Entry fees.

Note: the observatory is open to public during summer time only. Take part in astronomy evenings (reservations required).
