Here is one of the commemorative plaques of the Chandler family that graced the walls of the Saint-Barthélémy Church just before its demolition in November 1916. Nowadays, they can be found in the Saint James Church in Trois-Rivières. Those are the only relics of Lord Chandler’s church, since the stones also went missing in the demolition of the École normale of Nicolet. Photo credit: OTNY

In 1979, restoration works were started on the site of the former Anglican temple located near the catholic cemetery. The tombstones were straightened up and the cemetery was leveled. Nowadays, Chandler’s tomb is resting in peace among the few remaining stones that are the only legacy we own of the Protestant community of Nicolet. Photo credit: OTNY

This Protestant cemetery is located along Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street, facing the river. It can be found on the left, right before entering the Catholic cemetery. Nowadays, there are only a dozen of tombstones left with a few inscriptions still legible, which emphasize by their denomination English figures: Chandler, Trigge, McLeod or Morrison. Most of these inscriptions have a Latin dedication. Photo credit: OTNY
