Our Iconic Sculpture

The Sculpture and its Creator

This sculpture was created by Michelle Giguère to represent the first pioneers that cleared the land and developed community life on the high plateaus of the Appalaches mountains. She pays tribute to their courage and determination. She also celebrates the creativity and engagement of their successors. This sculpture's creation was made possible by the municipality and RMC's cultural funds.

Sculpture 3

While wooden blades represent the forest, the rocks represent our sometime rough mountains, and the grass at the forefront is the symbol of what was taken from the forest to feed the first pioneers.

Sculpture 4

The sculpture is ideally located between our church, undisputed benchmark of our community, and the municipal building, institutional symbol of our existence.
