In the end of the 19th century, the entire sector before you was being transformed. The red-brick walls were erected thanks to the many workers who came to Magog to construct buildings.

They offer a hint of the importance the factory would play in the town. By this time, the railway passed by the new factory and linked Magog to Sherbrooke, and to Montreal by 1885.

End of tour

This is the end of our route; we hope you’ve enjoyed your visit.

Even though this sector shows few traces of its first settlers, our tour provided an introduction to the history of The Outlet and the Magog River.

To return to your starting point, double back by following the bicycle trail to Bellevue Street where you’ll see other beautiful old homes.
